Reverend Gregory Thompson
I was born and raised in a small agriculture and scientific community known as Richland, Washington. There my two loving parents did all they could to raise and nurture me in the Lord, while attending our local Presbyterian church.
For many years throughout my earlier life, I tried hard to resist God’s call to ministry and found myself taking interest in many professions such as medicine, history, and education. But as Christ transforms your life, the Spirit had transformed me and I was continuously presented with opportunities for ministry.
Other than interning for several summers in my home church, my first ministerial jobs found me youth pastoring for about 4 years, both in the Seattle area and Southern California. After that, I decided to try my hand in the music field, and have worked roughly 5 years as Music Pastor in two different Southern Californian churches.
In 1998 I began my seminary education at Fuller Theological Seminary, where I currently hold a Master of Divinity degree.
God has moved in my life in ways that I haven’t even believed possible, and He has called me to be the Senior Pastor of Christ Chapel of Long Beach. I am honored and incredibly excited to see the awesome changes God has in store for both myself, our growing church, and larger community.
I believe God has called each of us to be presented mature in Christ, and while doing that, Christ Chapel is a church that is a “place to belong” for ALL people; a vision that I have for our church and its believers.
